Open Enrollment Seminar descriptions and schedule appear below. Seminar fees include training reference materials, continental breakfast and lunch, and certificate of completion. Class time is 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. Cancellations must be received five (5) business days prior to class. Fees are not refundable after this date. Substitutions are welcome at the time of the seminar.
Wisconsin seminars begin at 8:30 AM and end at 3:30 PM and do not include meals.

24-Hour Hazardous Materials Technician for 2023
Cost:Class Time: 8:30am to 5:30pm each day
Complies with the OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120(q)(6)(iii) training requirements for employees who respond to actual or potential releases of hazardous substances for the purpose of stopping the release. Three-day training assumes a more aggressive role than first responder.

First Responder Operations Level - HAZWOPER Refresher for 2023

Complies with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120 for responders to releases or potential releases of hazardous substance when part of the initial response to the site for the purpose of protecting nearby persons, property or the environment.

Hazardous Materials Transportation Initial - Refresher Training for 2023
Cost:Class Time: 8:30am to 5:30pm
Complies with DOT training requirements stated in 49 CFR 172.704 and covers general awareness/familiarization training and safety training for all HazMat employees. This session also covers Hazardous Materials Security training. Please note that this course focuses on the requirements for carriage by public highway. It does not cover training required for air shipment of dangerous goods nor modal-specific training for carriage by rail or vessel.

State of Wisconsin Hazardous Materials Awareness & Waste Disposal Training - 2023
Cost:During 2023, training will be provided both remotely through Microsoft Teams & three limited seating in-person options. For remote training, Microsoft Teams meeting invites with instructions will be sent to all registered email addresses in advance of the sessions. A phone call in option will be made available for those without computer access. For any potential scheduling conflicts or technical difficulty, recordings of the sessions will be available to review in the original Microsoft Teams calendar invites.

The State of Wisconsin Bureau of State Risk Management (BSRM) will sponsor free Awareness Level training for state employees working at state-owned or operated facilities and to state employees of municipalities, tribal governments, public K-12 schools, technical colleges and universities that use and dispose of materials or objects that contain hazardous chemical products. The training includes information on the management and proper disposal of products such as: oils, paints, thinners, laboratory chemicals, cleaners, corrosives (acids & bases) and poisons.
State owned or operated facilities that use products or objects that contain hazardous chemicals are required to provide training to "ensure that all employees are thoroughly familiar with proper waste handling, disposal and emergency procedures, relevant to their responsibilities during normal facility operations and emergencies."
INDIVIDUALS WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
- Facility operations, maintenance and buildings & grounds management;
- Employees who manage waste storage areas;
- Employees involved with vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair, including: surface preparation and painting, cleaning activities, battery replacement, boiler and/or swimming pool maintenance, parts washing, fluid transfers and oil or antifreeze changes;
- Laboratory workers who generate waste solvents or other chemical wastes;
- Stock/supply-areas workers who order, receive or store chemical products;
- Supervisors who oversee personnel with the above duties.
If you have registered for a class and need to cancel, please do so by sending an email to patrick.baskfield@veolia.com in our Menomonee Falls, WI office. You can then register for a new class at a more convenient time if you wish. On-line registration will close two days prior to the session date.
Registering for the February 21, 2023 virtual class will automatically register you for all four virtual classes. If you only want to attend a single, two or three sessions, you can register for the February 21, 2023 class and you will automatically be registered.
